The Manitoba Magazine Publishers' Association (MMPA) supports our members with networking and development opportunities. Annually we host a conference with professionals from across Canada to help grow your magazine.


CV2's 35th Anniversary Poetry Contest

Deadline: Novemeber 1, 2010
accepting poetry; 1-4 poems/submission, entry fee: $24, includes a 1-yr subscription to CV2 prizes: $500/$300/$150/2 honourable mentions + paid publication for each winner. Details: Whether 35 lines, 35 stanzas or "35" written into the poem itself, each poem must incorporate "35" somehow in its language or form. No extra points for being tricky, but we are definitely open to innovation! Anyone can enter, though only original, unpublished poetry is accepted.

No simultaneous submissions (more details online). Each poem may not exceed 100 lines. Manuscripts must be typed on 8.5x11 paper, title and page number on each page. Judging is blind, so include contact information on a separate sheet with a list of titles in your submission. Only paper submissions by post will be accepted.

Managing  Partner Wanted
Position description:

The Managing Partner will contribute publication management experience. He/she will be a senior member of the publication team, oversee the quarterly printing of "Glean Winnipeg"
and will play a key role in the overall success of the magazine.

Oversees all editorial activities Provides smooth workflow and management solutions for the magazine Addresses client concerns in a timely and professional manner Negotiates advertisement rates with clients within acceptable guidelines Provides "Glean Winnipeg" customers with advertising solutions Increases sales revenue through new advertisers Creates proposals for prospective advertisers Communicates by e-mail regularly with the Publisher Occasionally attends community events  and meetings as required.
