About Us

The mandate of the Manitoba Magazine Publishers' Association (MMPA) is to represent and promote Manitoba magazines, undertaking projects that can best be done collectively or collaboratively on behalf of its membership.

So whether it's a professional development weekend, lobbying for better conditions for publishers or launching a direct mail campaign showcasing Manitoba magazines to the public, the MMPA is your voice for magazine publishing's future in our province.

The MMPA's operations are under the control of a voluntary board of directors.

Members elected to the Board include:

• President: Deborah Morrison (The Beaver)
• Vice President: Dorothy Dobbie (Manitoba Gardener)
• Secretary: Sean Thiessen (Winnipeg Cruise Automotive)
• Treasurer: Linda Hazelwood (Horse Country)
• Members-At-Large: Clarise Foster (Contemporary Verse 2) and Glen Tinley (Winnipeg Women / Winnipeg Men)

The MMPA works on a collaborative basis with organizations including Magazines Canada, the British Columbia Association of Magazine Publishers (BCAMP) and the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA).
